The Door to Your Dream Home

Superior garage doors for the hottest homes

By Kimberly Rupnarain | July 9, 2011

While it’s no secret that renovating your home’s exterior is a smart way to renew the space and increase market value, many homeowners continue to overlook the effectiveness of a garage door facelift. The team at Canadian Doormaster Electric Ltd., however, has been working for over two decades in British Columbia to help homeowners amplify curb appeal as well as the salability of their homes by providing key upgrades to the essential exterior feature.

“Installing new garage doors can dramatically improve the look and exterior appearance of your home at a reasonable cost,” says Canadian Doormaster vice-president Kyle Hart.

“By going from wooden doors to a more sleek and contemporary aluminum and glass, or [an] insulated natural wood grain, [it can serve as a] makeover and improve your home’s green quota.”

Hart adds that Canadian Doormaster also offers clients matching front doors for an even more dramatic difference in curb appeal. A simple call is all it takes to discover what upgrades Canadian Doormaster has to offer. An informative door technician will assess your home improvement needs before scheduling a visit from a residential salesperson, who will evaluate and measure the garage door space as well as explain the diverse door options and available pricing.

The four most popular door options include: Wooden doors, available in a variety of colours with options to be matched to your home’s existing finishes and stains; steel doors, which come in a multitude of colours and finishes, and are even available with pop-out windows for easier cleaning; aluminum doors, for homeowners looking to make a statement with a sleeker, more modern design; and finally, insulated doors, which prevent heat loss and minimize electricity bills.

“Weigh the options of insulated doors that can reduce electricity costs and lead to your home being more environmentally friendly for yourself and potential buyers,” says Hart.

The company, which also offers a collection of aluminum and steel gates for homeowners interested in additional security and definition, also presents interior residential overhead doors as a creative and functional way of merging indoor and outdoor living spaces.

“If you’re building or remodelling, consider substituting sliding glass doors or a bank of view windows with an overhead clear panel aluminum door to instantly expand your surroundings,” says Hart. “A perfect solution to take advantage of our temperate Vancouver weather to the fullest!”

After deciding what designs best suit your needs, a quote will be available for approval either immediately or, for more complex applications, within 24 hours. Regular installations will be scheduled within seven days and will take approximately an hour or two to complete, depending on the project’s size and complexity.

“Should you have any questions or concerns you can always call our office and we’ll be happy to answer any questions you have,” says Hart. “Canadian Doormaster is a family business [that] has been installing overhead garage doors and gates in the Lower Mainland for over 20 years and we’re always available.”•
